Louisa's Foundation FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the FAQs section of Louisa’s Foundation website. Here, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about our organization.

1. What is Louisa's Foundation's mission?

Louisa’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to supporting U.S. children and families by providing essential resources like meals, clothing, school supplies, and scholarships. We fight childhood hunger domestically and internationally while building confidence and opportunity for brighter futures.

Our Domestic program partners with local food banks, schools, and pantries in communities like Nassau County, NY, to deliver nutritious meals and snacks. Every $10 donation feeds a child for a week, ensuring no kid goes hungry and can focus on learning.

We distribute quality, age-appropriate clothes, coats, and shoes to children facing insecurity—free of charge. This boosts self-esteem and safety, with $10 outfitting one child for a season. All U.S.-focused to help kids thrive in school and play.

Donate to equip under-resourced students with backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and more. For $7, we provide a full starter kit. Last year, we helped 500+ Nassau County kids start school ready to succeed—your gift levels the playing field.

Our scholarships remove financial barriers for high-achieving high school and college-bound youth from low-income families, covering tuition, books, and fees. $5 seeds one award, breaking poverty cycles and funding dreams for deserving teens.

Over 90% of every dollar goes directly to programs—no waste. We track impact via partnerships and reports, ensuring funds fuel real change. Monthly giving sustains ongoing support; donate now to see your role in ending hunger and insecurity.

We serve communities both locally and abroad. Our primary international work focuses on Uganda and Kenya where the need for food, education support, and basic living resources is urgent. We also run domestic programs in the United States that provide food assistance, clothing, and support for children and families in underserved areas.

Donations directly support our hunger relief programs, school supply distribution, clothing assistance, farming support, and construction projects that help children and the elderly. We keep administrative costs low so that most of every dollar goes toward food, resources, and services that reach children and families in need.

Currently, we do not offer one to one sponsorship. Instead, your donations support entire communities, which ensures fairness and that no child is overlooked. As we grow, we may introduce selective sponsorship programs.

Our long-term goals include expanding food assistance programs, building more classrooms and homes for the elderly, supporting sustainable farming projects, increasing scholarship funding, and operating year-round programs that uplift entire communities.
